BETWEEN WALLS

A group exhibition of work made during the corona virus pandemic at the Safehouse Gallery, 2020

“In my makeshift workspace, I’m still stitching and stuffing, pinning and pinching, but smaller things, weaving connections. My concentration drifts, distracted by the dreadful daily news.

I walk in circles around the woods, collecting sticks to whittle down to their bony core. I discover the trees grow above a burial pit from the Black Death.

Time has become slippery. Repetition absorbs the hours, and keeps my fingers busy. I think of the rhythm of a ticking clock, of breathing, of walking, of nursery rhymes, of rocking and the non-sense of it all.”
